Ceramic Coating in North Atlanta

Your paint loses a little value every week it sits unprotected. Spring pollen, summer UV and heat, pine sap, and the bird droppings that come with parking anywhere green all eat into clear coat. Ceramic coating is the layer that stops it, and Autocraft installs it at your home or office, anywhere across North Atlanta.

What ceramic coating actually does

A liquid polymer that bonds chemically to your clear coat and cures into a hard, glass-like layer. It is not a wax. Wax sits on top of the paint and washes away in weeks. A coating becomes part of the surface and stays for years.

Blocks UV

Stops the ultraviolet rays that fade and oxidize paint, which is what turns red chalky and black grey after a few Georgia summers.

Resists chemicals

Bird droppings, bug guts and tree sap are acidic. A coating buys you time to wash them off before they etch a permanent mark.

Repels dirt

The surface becomes slick enough that contamination struggles to bond. The car stays cleaner longer and takes far less work to wash.

Why North Atlanta is hard on paint

Pollen season here is not a nuisance, it is an abrasive. Yellow pine pollen settles in thick layers, and every time someone wipes it off dry it drags across the clear coat like fine sandpaper. That is where a large share of swirl marks on Georgia cars come from.

Then the summer arrives. Long stretches of direct sun and high heat accelerate oxidation. Afternoon storms leave mineral-heavy water spots that bake on within minutes. Park under the pines that make this area beautiful and you add sap to the list.

Correction always comes first

A ceramic coating locks in whatever is underneath it. Seal swirl marks, water spots and oxidation under a coating and they are there for years. That is why every Autocraft coating begins with preparation, not with the bottle.

We decontaminate the paint with an iron remover and a clay bar, then machine polish to cut swirls and restore gloss. Only when the surface is genuinely correct does the coating go on. If your paint needs more than a single-stage polish we will tell you before we start. See our paint correction and restoration service.

Ceramic coating or paint protection film?

They solve different problems, and plenty of vehicles get both. The usual setup is film on the front end and coating everywhere else.

Coating is chemical armour

Defends the whole vehicle against UV, oxidation, staining and contamination, and transforms how the car looks and washes. What it will not do is stop a rock.

Film is physical armour

A thick, self-healing urethane layer on the panels that take impact. It absorbs rock chips and road debris that no coating can. Read about paint protection film.

Frequently asked questions

How long does the installation take?

Most coatings are a full-day job, because the preparation is the majority of the work. Heavier correction can extend into a second day. We give you a realistic window before we book, not an optimistic one.

Can I wash the car normally afterward?

Yes, and it will be easier than before. We ask you to leave it alone for the first week while the coating fully cures, then wash with a pH-neutral soap and the two-bucket method. Skip automatic brush washes. They are what put swirls in paint in the first place.

Does a ceramic coating stop scratches?

No, and be careful with anyone who says it does. A coating adds real hardness and shrugs off light marring from washing, but it will not stop a shopping cart or a rock on I-575. That is what film is for.

Should I take the 5-year or the 8-year?

Ask how long you are keeping the vehicle. Under five years, the 5-Year package is the sensible spend. Longer than that, or if the car is new and you want it to stay that way, the 8-Year works out cheaper per year and includes deeper correction.

Can you do this at my house?

Yes. We bring the equipment, the power and the lighting, and all we need is access to the vehicle and enough room to work around it. You are equally welcome to bring the car to our Marietta facility.
